Richard Jerome Mork, 88, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Koda Living Community. He was born July 7, 1926 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of William and Sophie (Marchwick) Mork. Richard graduated from Owatonna High School in 1944, and then began farming in Merton Township with his father. He entered the United States Navy and served his country from 1951-1955. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy he began farming on his own, and later worked at Viracon. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was also with the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the American Legion. He is survived his grandchildren Brady Mork, Miranda Mork, and Briar Mork, and three great grandchildren Tori, Toccarah, and Layla. He is also survived by his brother Bill Mork of Princeton, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard in 2008, and his brother Kenny Mork. Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday August 29, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday August 29, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Brian Sutton officiating. Interment will be in the Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery in Deerfield Township, with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
