Richard Charles Overholt, 80, of Kenyon, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

He was born August 5, 1943 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of Leon and Ethel (Steinberg) Overholt. He grew up in Kenyon and graduated from Kenyon High School. He continued his education at Mankato State where he earned a bachelor's degree in art.

While in college, he married Pamela Jordan. The couple was blessed with two sons, Cjon and Dyronn and later divorced.

Richard's career in teaching was mainly spent in Davenport, Iowa where he taught Art. In 2000, he retired and moved back to Kenyon.

Richard was involved with Boy Scouts in Davenport and loved socializing with everyone.

He is survived by sons, Cjon Overholt of Kenyon and Dyronn (Susan) Overholt of West Concord; grandchildren, Alexis (Jon) Aumann, Anabella Overholt, Derrikk Overholt, Lyranna Overholt, Alexandra Overholt, Serenity Overholt, Greyson Overholt and Chrysanthemum Overholt; sister-in-law, Pat Overholt of Chico, CA and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Ethel and brothers, James, Robert and Thomas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kenyon with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon.
