Richard 'Dick' R. Reyant, 74, of West Concord, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at his home. Richard was born September 10, 1935 in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Charles and Albina (Kubista) Reyant. While early on, Richard lived with his parents in Hope, Blooming Prairie, Havana, Lemond Township and to a farm near West Concord where he attended country school, District 68. After grade school he attended West Concord High School later graduating. He was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, CO. From there he was transferred to Fort Chaffee, AR, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, and later to a California Missile Base. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Minnesota and was united in marriage to Betty Schmidt on September 2, 1961 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Owatonna. He worked for Wacek Brothers Cabinet and Woodworking for 25 years and then rented the farm near West Concord from his parents. He later purchased the farm. Dick loved farming. He enjoyed cutting wood, old time music and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed playing pinochle. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Owatonna, member of the American Legion, West Concord and served as Ellington Township supervisor. He especially loved spending time with his two grandchildren, Beyanna and Isaac. He is survived by daughter, Renee Reyant of Byron; son, Richard (and Bethany) Reyant of West Concord; brother, Luverne Reyant of Helena, MT; sister, Rita (and James) Berning of Owatonna; Monica Salucco of Balboa, CA; Regina (and Ernie) Wood of Las Vegas, NV; Barbara (and Norbert 'Bert') Antoine of Owatonna and California; two grandchildren, Beyanna and Isaac Reyant of West Concord and his mother-in-law, Rose Hohrman. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and his brother, Maynard Reyant. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath and Father James Berning officiating.
