Rienard Woodrow Linde, 95, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born May 14, 1915 in Minneapolis the son of Magnus and Cecilia (Anderson) Linde. Rienard graduated from Eden Prairie High School and later Dunwoody Institute. He worked for Beloit Ironworks as a mechanical engineer before serving in the US Navy. While in the Navy he served on board the USS Hyde in the Pacific during World War II. On August 3, 1946 he married Elsie Louise Nelson in St. Paul. Rienard worked for Waldorf Paper in St. Paul, which later became International Paper, until his retirement. He was active in First Lutheran Church in St. Paul. In 1992, Rienard and his wife moved to Owatonna. He was active with DayBreak Community Church where he served as the Photographic Historian and was instrumental in the design and construction of the new church facility. He obtained his private pilot's license in 1943 and his amateur radio general license in 2010. Rienard was an active member of the American Swedish Institute. Rienard is survived by sons, David (and Jan) Linde of Prior Lake, John (and Bonnie) Linde of Owatonna; grandchildren, Scott Linde of Santa Barbara, CA, Sarah (and fianc Sean McClaren) Linde of Prior Lake, Krisanne (and Josh) Forsman of Maple Lake; great granddaughter, Abigail Forsman of Maple Lake; brother-in-law, Arnie Jacobson of Sarasota, FL; sister-in-law, Bernice Scherz of St. Paul and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be at DayBreak Community Church on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held May 15, 2011 at 2pm at DayBreak Community Church with Pastor John Linde officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in St. Paul. Memorials are preferred to DayBreak Building Fund, Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or to the donor''s choice.
