Obituary

Robert W. "Bill" Foreman, 91, of Owatonna, MN, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Randolph Health Services in Randolph, Wisconsin.

He was born May 8, 1933, in Paris, Missouri, the son of William Eugene and Dora Isabelle (Wills) Foreman. Bill grew up in Mexico, Missouri, and was famous for saying "he was born in Paris and raised in Mexico". He graduated from Mexico High School (home of the Bulldogs), where he played football and the trombone. After high school, he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and left for training in August 1951. Bill ultimately became a radio operator with the 29th RSM and served in the Philippines from 1952 to1954, and was honorably discharged in 1955. He met his first wife, Bobbie (Pierson) in California and they were wed in 1957. They had two children, Pam and Will, and later divorced.

Bill continued using his communications skills in California and Missouri for a few years before joining Federated Insurance in 1962. Eventually, the job brought Bill and his family to Owatonna. Bill worked for Federated Insurance for 32 years before retiring in 1994, as a Vice President of Property & Casualty - Underwriting.

Sometime in late 1977, Larry and Joanie Pierce set Bill up on a blind date with Sarah Doman, a teacher at Owatonna High School. The rest is history. Bill and Sarah were wed in December of 1978. They loved to travel, and they covered many miles before Sarah passed away in 2006.

Bill bowled and liked to play golf. He was active in the Lions Club, Elks Lodge 1395, VFW Post 3723, and American Legion Post 77 where he was a member of the Color Guard for many years. His love of travel continued later in life, and he cruised and traveled with his dear friend, Ginna Anderson, before he moved to Wisconsin in 2022.

Bill will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, generosity, and cornball jokes - he will be missed.

He is survived by daughter Pam Foreman of Kodiak, Alaska, son Will (Diane) Foreman of Rio, Wisconsin, and grandchildren Shane (Katy) Foreman and Dana Foreman; and niece Elizabeth "Libby" Hanson of Carrollton, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Foreman; parents Eugene and Isabelle Foreman; brother Charles (Don) Foreman.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the caring staff of Randolph Health Services for the wonderful care Bill received as a resident in their facility.

Services will be held at Michaelson's Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
