Robert "Bob" John Miller, age 82, of Owatonna, died May 6, 2020, at Owatonna Birchwood Cottages with his loving wife by his side.
Bob was born in Winnipeg, Canada to Robert and Edith Miller. Immediately following graduation from the University of Manitoba he was employed by Federated Mutual Insurance Co. in Winnipeg.
In 1973, Bob was transferred to the Federated Home Office in Owatonna, MN where he worked in the Personal Lines Underwriting Dept. He retired as Property and Casualty Administrator in 1997.
In 1962, Bob married Margaret-Ann Small in Winnipeg. They were together for 57+ years during which time they were blessed with love, good health, 2 children and 2 granddaughters.
Bob's passions included singing, running, golfing and camping. He sang tenor in Winnipeg with "The Rainbows" quartet and in 2 Owatonna Associated Church choirs. Bob ran in several 10K and 5K races winning many in his age range – and still running sub 10-minute miles well into his seventies. He traveled all over the US and Canada with the MN Airstream Club. He loved Owatonna and MN.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret-Ann; daughter, Dr. Deborah Miller; son, Rob (Alice) Miller; sister, Pat (Tom) Barne and 2 granddaughters, Sophia and Claire Miller. He was predeceased by his parents.
The family would like to thank the Owatonna Visiting Angels and the staff of Birchwood Cottages for their kind and compassionate care of Bob.
Due to Covid19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Owatonna Associated Church, the MN Alzheimer's Association or the donor's choice.
