Robert C. Evans, 87, of, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born March 6, 1922 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Robert and Julia (Clark) Evans. Robert attended school in Owatonna graduating in 1940; he then attended Pillsbury and the University of Minnesota. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was very active in sports, enjoying, baseball, football, hockey, and bowling. Robert was a member of the American Legion, Elks, Eagles, and served on the Forest Hill Cemetery Board. Bob is remembered as clerking at St. Clair's Clothing on North Cedar, with his butch haircut, handle bar mustache, and bow tie. He is survived by daughter, Suzi Juarze of El Prado, NM, grandson, Chris Juarze of Breckenridge, CO, brother, James (and Valerie) Evans of Wichita Falls, TX, sister, Kathleen (and Berlyn) Staska of Owatonna, and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard K. Evans. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
