Robert P. Jensen, 84, of Owatonna, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Bob was born December 29, 1927 in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Peter and Caroline (Kaplan) Jensen. Bob enlisted in the Army in 1946 at Fort Snelling, and served in various places including South Korea until his discharge in 1948. He attended the California College of Arts, graduating with a B.A. in 1951. Bob married Dorothy Gartman on January 12, 1963 in Owatonna. He worked 35 years for OTC as a graphic artist and art director in the advertising department, retiring in 1990. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jensen of Owatonna; brother, Evarts Jensen of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Elaine Schaper of Brooklyn Park and brother-in-law, Larry Gartman of Evanston, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sherman Jensen, infant brother, Clifford Jensen and sister, Jeanette (Mike) Cinani. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before the church service. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church and the Owatonna Foundation.
