Robert Walter LeBeau, 79, of Blooming Prairie, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home. Robert was born November 2, 1930 in Marshall, Minnesota the son of Zephere and Marie (LeGeese) LeBeau. Robert attended school at St. Joseph Academy in Marshall and later at Marshall High School graduating in 1948. On November 12, 1948, Robert entered the United States Navy and served four years receiving his honorable discharge on November 7, 1952. During that time he served on the USS Sea Lion submarine as a radioman. He returned to Marshall following the service and began working in Minneapolis for Western Electric from 1952 until 1954. He then worked for Northwestern Bell from 1954 through 1980. In 1975, Robert was transferred to Owatonna. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Johns on September 26, 1975. In 1982, he worked for ATT international and worked overseas in Saudi Arabia. He continued working for ATT after his return and retired in 1986. From remodeling a single garage at his home into a "man cave" last year, flipping homes in the area or designing homes for builders in the Twin Cities, he always enjoyed construction work. He was very energetic, determined and coined as a "workaholic" always needing a project to do. Robert and Kathryn enjoyed wintering in Brownsville, TX and was a member of the American Legion in Blooming Prairie. He is survived by his wife Kathryn LeBeau of Blooming Prairie; children Chip (and Sue) Cory of Blooming Prairie; Rossana (and Paul) Vick of Medford; Loni (and Kevin) Christianson of Blooming Prairie; Stephanie Cory of Blooming Prairie; four grandsons, one granddaughter, two great grandsons, his children from a previous marriage, Mark LeBeau of Minneapolis; Paul LeBeau of Steamboat, CO; Phillip (and Jennifer) LeBeau of Colorado Springs, CO; Peter LeBeau of Rosemount; Ann Marie LeBeau of Colorado Springs, CO; Joseph LeBeau of Atlanta, GA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, Jim (and Connie) LeBeau of Duluth, MN; Walter (and LuAnn) LeBeau of Las Vegas, NV; Larry (and Pat) LeBeau of Prescott, AZ; four sisters, Ruth Blake of Prescott, WI; Mary Lou Griffith of Red Wing; Pat (and Chuck) Angus of Fergus Falls; Beverly Maguill of Las Vegas; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, three brothers his loyal dog, Bridget. Private family graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, Bixby, Minnesota with Chaplain Shari Mason officiating.
