Robert Leonard Mortensen, 77, of Owatonna, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born December 8, 1932 in Owatonna the son of Leon and Myrtle (Panzer) Mortensen. Robert served in the US Army from 1952 - 1955. He married Bonnie Abraham May 24, 1958 at The Associated Church in Owatonna. He worked for Jostens for 29 years prior to a 17 year career with Carlson Craft retiring in 1998. In retirement, Robert delivered parts for the Owatonna NAPA store. Robert was a member of The Associated Church, Steel Wheels Motorcycle Club and the Birthday and Anniversary Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, camping, fishing, model airplanes and snowmobiling. His family cherished the time he devoted to them while on vacations together or at home. Robert is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mortensen of Owatonna; sons, Jim (and Deb) Mortensen of Owatonna, Todd (and Janelle) Mortensen of Ellendale; grandchildren, Melissa, Jeremy, Christopher, Josie; great grandson, Quincey Price; mother in law, Luella Abraham of Owatonna; sister in law, Jurene Mortensen of Owatonna and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Donald Mortensen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm and at The Associated Church on Monday from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00pm at The Associated Church with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
