Robert Hubert Spinler, 70, of Owatonna, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was born January 6, 1947 in Owatonna the son of Hubert and Lila (Coulter) Spinler. Bob graduated from OHS with the Class of 1964. He served in the US Navy from 1966-1970. Following his military service he returned to Owatonna. Bob enjoyed a variety of work throughout his life. He spent several years managing various Gibson's stores throughout Iowa and Illinois. He was a real estate broker and owned R-Home Realty in Owatonna. Bob owned The Coin Den, The Light House and other commercial real estate properties in Owatonna.
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles Club. He loved his family and 2 dogs. Bob was an avid coin collector, enjoyed traveling, science fiction, fishing and taking road trips. He was very easy to talk to and enjoyed conversations with anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Spinler of Owatonna; daughters, Sue (and Rick) Wollin of Morton, Sheryl (and Cory) Breidenbach of Owatonna, Amy Spinler of Clements; 6 grandchildren, Kassie, Ashley, Amanda, Adam, Amber, April; 5 great grandchildren and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Brad.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Steele County Humane Society, Owatonna Area Hospice Patient Care Fund or to the donor's choice.
