Roger W. Jensen, 79, of Owatonna, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Owatonna Care Center. Roger was born July 9, 1933 in Aurora Township the son of Lawrence and Nora (Anderson) Jensen. He attended country school until the ninth grade and then attended and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1952. He was united in marriage to Katherine Wocelka on February 2, 1963 in Aurora Lutheran Church. Roger dairy farmed along with his brother Orie. Roger truly loved the outdoors, farming, deer hunting, fishing at Leech Lake or taking a daily four wheeler drive through his fields and through the marsh. He also enjoyed visiting Kathy''s family up North. Roger was a hard worker and rarely left the area knowing that there was work to be done or wanting to check on the crops. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Katherine Jensen of Owatonna; son Loren (and Roberta) Jensen of Owatonna; daughter, Shelly Jensen-Johnson of Owatonna; three grandchildren; Kady Rose Johnson of Owatonna; Hunter and Brody Jensen of Owatonna; two brothers, Orie Jensen of Owatonna; Wyman Jensen of Owatonna; a sister, Darlene (and Clifford) Bartsch of Owatonna; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jensen of Owatonna He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Betty and brother-in-law Gene Pichner and a sister-in-law Jan Jensen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Aurora Lutheran Church with the Reverend Jonathan Davis officiating.
