Roland Charles Moore, 77, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
He was born March 12, 1942 in LaCrossse, WI the son of Henry and Virginia (Moore) Cangi. Roland graduated from Duluth East High School in 1960. He moved to the Twin Cities for work and met Rona Winter. Roland married Rona Nov. 24, 1962 in White Bear Lake. Roland worked for Ideal Brass as a painter. He accepted a position with OTC in their paint shop which relocated him to Owatonna in 1967. Roland stayed with OTC and later Truth until his retirement in 2008.
Roland was a selfless, caring and kind man that valued time with his family. They spent a lot of time together going on vacations, going sledding, ice skating, visiting local parks and countless bike rides. He loved his grandkids and his "grand-puppies." Roland played softball for several years, he loved working on small engines and was very handy. He could fix anything which was a big help to his children at times. He was an avid fan of the MN Twins and Vikings, local stock car races as well as NASCAR racing. He had the opportunity to attend several NASCAR races with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Rona Moore of Owatonna; daughters, Wendy Moore of Ellendale, Karla (and Calvin "Dude" Ebeling) Siegfried of Owatonna; son, Mark (and Bobbi) Moore of Owatonna; grandchildren, Alex (and Sabrina Wandersee) Moore, Harlee (and Sebastian) Vokon, Courtney (and Fiance Dylan Wigham) Vokoun, Jacey Siegfried; brothers, Jim (and Amy) McGuire, Mike Cangi; sister, Claudia DeWitt and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry McGuire and sister, Marguerite Naastad.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1pm to 3pm and on Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
