Ronald Duane Jensen, 72, of Owatonna, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Koda Living Community. Ronald was born December 22, 1941, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota the son of Arnold and Borghild (Hagna) Jensen. He was raised near Blooming Prairie and there he attended school graduating in 1959. Ron served in the United States Navy enlisting on August 31, 1961 and served for four years receiving his honorable discharge August 2, 1965. He was united in marriage to Lois Kruesel on June 3, 1967 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church-Meriden. The couple made their home in Meriden and raised two sons. Ronald began working at Blount in 1976 where he was a receiving clerk in the forestry division. He retired in 2001. Ronald was a collector of things. Not one thing in particular, but a hobby of collecting. He enjoyed watching sports, he raced stock cars and just loved being outdoors. He also liked visiting with his family and friends which got difficult to do as his Parkinson''s progressed. He truly missed being able to carry on the conversations with the people he cared about. Most importantly though were his grandchildren. He enjoyed having them visit and being able to spend time with them. He is survived by his wife Lois Jensen of Owatonna; his two sons, Cory (and Laura) Jensen of Owatonna; Casey Jensen of Owatonna; two grandchildren, Corrina and Porter Jensen of Owatonna; his brother, Marvin (and Renee) Jensen of Mantorville; and three sisters, Barb (and Dale) Oakland of Brownsdale; Mary (and Jerry Erck) Chadderdon of Owatonna; and Dianne (and John) Kozan of Maple Plain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Borghild and his step-mother, Marvel Kroeger Jensen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kenneth Bowman officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Meriden in Meriden Township. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to the Koda Living Community or St. Paul''s Lutheran Church-Meriden.
