Ronald Lee Ellis, 64, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Owatonna Care Center. Ronald was born April 11, 1951 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Lee and Blanche (Arrington) Ellis. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1969. He then attended the University of Iowa. Ron began working for Mr. Quick Restaurant as a manager in Rockford, IL and later transferred to Owatonna in 1973. He was united in marriage to Deborah Sorensen on July 1, 1974. The couple lived in Owatonna. Ron worked for OTC as a computer programmer and also for Power Team for 27 years. Ron had many hobbies over his lifetime. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to ride bicycle, play tennis, racquetball and volleyball. He enjoyed the outdoors and went camping or being with his dog taking him on walks. He is survived by his daughter, Tami (and Caleb) Korpi of Claremont; a son, Brad Ellis (and Michelle Perry) of Tucson, AZ; his former wife, Deborah Ellis of Claremont; a sister, Patricia (and Robert Baldes of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren, Brittany Ellis of Claremont; Dylan Ellis of Owatonna and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren at infancy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
