Ronald J. Jensen, 80, of Owatonna, died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. He was born March 13, 1937 in Owatonna the son of Judeen and Ruby (Hassell) Jensen. Ron attended District 76 country school and grew up on his family's farm. He worked for Steele County for over 37 years before retirement and then worked part time for the county for another 12 years after retirement. Ron married Carol Worrell in 1962 and they were later divorced. He later enjoyed life with his significant other, Betty Miller. Ron was a member of the Eagle's Club and a social member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He loved trips to Laughlin, NV with his siblings and Cajun Fest in Walker. He is survived by his son, Douglas (and Ann) Jensen of Owatonna; daughter, Dawn Witt of Owatonna; grandsons, Deryck Witt, Rayce Witt; brother, Sherman (and Judy) Jensen of Walker; sisters, Jeanette Theuer of Owatonna, Judy (and Curtis) Dahl of Owatonna and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his significant other, Betty Miller and one brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm and on Monday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:30pm at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
