Ronald C. Kriesel, 72, of Owatonna, died on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald Charles Kriesel was born on June 26, 1947, the son of Charles and Doris (Rasmussen) Kriesel. He attended Owatonna High School. Ronald entered into the United States Army on August 25, 1966 and was honorably discharged in August 23, 1968, serving during the Vietnam War. On March 14, 1970, he married RaNaye Schmitz at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Ronald worked for National Tree Expert Company now known as Carrs for over 40 years. He also worked for Lighting Retrofit where he retired in 2010. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed hunting with his grandsons. Ronald enjoyed camping, fishing and having coffee at the pool hall. He also enjoyed helping family and friends work on and repair their homes. Ronald looked forward to the annual family trip up north to Lake Carlos, spending time with his family was something he greatly cherished.
Ronald is survived by his wife, RaNaye Kriesel of Owatonna; children, Rhonda (Ken) Malecha of Northfield, Randy (Jennifer) of Blooming Prairie, Rakel (Joey) Kircher of Owatonna, Relissa Kriesel of New Richland; grandchildren, Bradley, Morgan, Brianna, Brooke, Myiah, Zachary, Charlie, Tucker, Clair, Owen and Addison; sister, Janelle Holm of Owatonna.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marlys Deml.
Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit at 4 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. A celebration of Ronald's life will follow until 7 pm.
