Ronald E. Ramsey, 74, of Owatonna, Minnesota died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Ron was born June 20, 1943 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota the son of Robert and Gladys (Falck) Ramsey. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1961. In 1965, he began his service in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany in the Army Helicopter Unit until his honorable discharge in 1967. He married Barbara Lysne on August 23, 1969 at the Red Oak Grove Church. Throughout his years, Ron drove truck for Dahlen Transport, was shop supervisor of maintenance of vehicles for Steele Waseca Cooperative Electric, and worked for Viracon until his retirement in 2005. Ron enjoyed being a part of the local Gold Wing Motorcycle Club and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (and Chad) Spinler of Rogers; three grandchildren, Samuel, Anna, and Chloe; two sisters, Sharon Lea and Jean Haubenschild both of Blooming Prairie; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna with full military honors conducted by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
