Ronald R. Ringhofer, 67, of Owatonna, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 while attending the Steele County Fair with his family, after being diagnosed with cancer Ron was very determined to be at the fair. He was born March 26, 1944 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota the son of Leonard and Gladys (Grunklee) Ringhofer. Ron attended school in Blooming Prairie and Dodge Center, after school he worked for the Owatonna Tile Plant and the Bixby Elevator. He married Janet Smith October 10, 1964 and the couple later divorced. Ron started working at Wenger in 1967 where he was still currently employed. He married Sharon Robertson May 16, 1980 at St John Lutheran in Owatonna. Ron enjoyed being with his grandchildren, family and friends. Motorcycling, snowmobiling, going to the casinos, vacationing, yard work, polished cars and the Steele County Fair were some things that Ron enjoyed doing. He is survived by his wife Sharon Ringhofer of Owatonna, daughter Julie (and Rick) Schmit of Burnsville, son Tom (and Ann) Ringhofer of Owatonna, five grandchildren Mitchell, Dylan, Logan, Danika, and Karly. He is also survived by his Sister Donna (and Tom) Harris of Owatonna, and Brother Dale (and Karen) Ringhofer of Owatonna, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday August 23, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday August 24, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 24, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
