Rosa "Rosie" Lydia (Pittman) Kruckeberg, 98 year old resident of Owatonna, passed away of pneumonia on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
Rosa was born April 4, 1922 in Aurora Township, Steele County to Frank and Lydia (Kuntz) Pittman. She attended and graduated from School District 27 in Steele County. On April 10, 1940 she was united in marriage to Earl Kruckeberg at St. John's Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Rosie was a homemaker and after she and Earl retired from farming, she was employed at Federated Insurance for 21 years, retiring in 1999.
While they farmed, she loved and cared for her chickens, even at one time having a pet rooster. She gardened, loved her flowers, made numerous crafts and crocheted over a hundred doilies, which are family treasures.
She leaves behind her three daughters, Joanne Halverson of Coal Valley, IL, Sandra (Kenneth) Dille, of Rochester and JoLynn (David) Chadwick of Owatonna; 5 grandchildren, Brenda Vogele, Sheryl (Jeff) Hoepner, Jeff (Kerstin) Halverson, Misha Hanson, Bryce (Erica) Dille, and grand puppy, Tula (Chadwick); 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son-in-law, Ronald Halverson; sister, Dorothy Kruckeberg and brother, Kenneth Pittman and grand dogs.
Rosie's family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Birchwood Cottages and Homestead Hospice House for the kind, tender care extended to Rosie.
Because of the virus restrictions a private family burial will be held.
