Obituary

Rose Lorraine Techau, 101, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Rose was born October 13, 1914 in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Matilda (Mueller) Wutschke. She was baptized in November of 1914 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault, MN. She moved with her parents to Ada, MN at the age of 5. Rose attended school in Ada and at the age of 14 was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ada. In 1933, she moved with her parents to Waltham, MN and worked various jobs. Rose was united in marriage to John Luther Techau on September 3, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham. In 1943, they moved to Owatonna where she was a homemaker, and worked 32 years at the Owatonna Canning Company. Her husband, John, passed on May 1, 1983. Rose was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and belonged to Taber Missionary Society also attended bible classes at the High Rise. She is survived by her four children, Delores (Peter) Kelly of New York City, NY, Gerald (Lou) Techau of Owatonna, Marilyn Laven of Storm Lake, IA, and Arlen (Nancy) Techau of Owatonna; daughter-in-law, Shirley Techau of Callao, MO; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Ronald Techau; son-in-law, Peter Laven Sr.; grandson, Nicolas Techau; great grandson, Dylan Erps; three brothers, Harold, Edgar, and Arnold Wutschke; two sisters, Lilly Nelson and Violet Pater. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owatonna with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Visitation: 01/10/2016 16:00 01/10/2016 19:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service at the church 01/11/2016 11:00
