Rosemary Petersen, 79, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at her home. She was born October 26, 1936 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of James and Mary (Abbott) Capuzzi. Rosemary graduated from Mason City Senior High in 1954. After marrying Gary L. Petersen, Rosemary had one daughter, Antonia (Toni) Marie, in August of 1959. She later divorced and continued to reside in Mason City with her parents. She was employed at Bergo's Department Store and North Iowa Medical Center. After the death of her mother in 1986, she moved to Owatonna in 1987 to be closer to her daughter and her family. She especially loved being able to take an active role in the life of her grandson, Darryl. Rosemary lived in Owatonna from 1987 to 1994 and after living in Monticello for 4 years, returned to Owatonna in 1998. While living in Owatonna she lived at Lincoln Square which she called home for almost 25 years. She loved living there and being able to see all the activity of neighbors and the children going off to the close by elementary and junior high schools. She was always such a kind-hearted, friendly person who always said hello to neighbors and loved visiting with them. She also really enjoyed their pets. Rosemary was a life long fan of Elvis. She is survived by her daughter, Antonia Toni (and special friend Brian Schull) Olson of Medford; aunt, Kay DiMarco of Palatine, IL and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Capuzzi, Jr; grandson, Darryl Mueller. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec 23, 2015 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Edward McGrath officiating.
