She was born February 19, 1924 in Claremont the daughter of David and Meta (Hobert) Naylor. Ruth attended country school through eighth grade before doing housework and chores for a lady in Eaton. She moved to Owatonna to work at Josten's braising rings and later moved to San Francisco to work for the defense department making walkie-talkies where she received war bonds as pay. Ruth moved back to Claremont and went to work at Ohrman's Cafe. During her time at Josten's, she was encouraged by a friend to write letters to an overseas service man by the name of Ferris. Upon his return to the States, Ruth and Ferris met and were married on June 10, 1946 in Owatonna. The couple lived in Owatonna and Ruth stayed home to raise three boys, Roger, Larry and David. Ruth enjoyed camping, Square Dancing, playing cards, crocheting and puzzles. She was a member of the Do Se Do dancing club, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church. Ruth enjoyed wintering with Ferris in Florida, Arizona and Texas. She is survived by her sons, Roger (and Renae) Chladek of Apple Valley, David Chladek of Colorado Springs, CO, Larry (and Heidi) Chladek of Owatonna; 4 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; brother, Melvin Naylor; sisters, Darlene Proehl, Shirley Henry and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris Chladek; brothers, Earl Naylor, Lester Naylor. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
