Ruth A. Radel Borwege, 97, of Owatonna, passed peacefully with her daughter at her side Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Traditions II in Owatonna. Ruth was born September 7, 1916 in Meriden Township the daughter of Albert and Luella (Mollenhauer) Sorenson. Ruth married Alvin Radel on February 20, 1936. Ruth and Alvin farmed together until 1955 when they moved to Owatonna. Alvin passed away on February 3, 1960. Ruth later married Albert Borwege on June 14, 1961 and Albert passed away on November 11, 1997. Along with being a homemaker Ruth also worked at Penny''s, Hart''s Central Bakery and Owatonna Bakery. She also worked as a seamstress during the 70''s. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Ruth was very active with the Women''s group at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary, Happy Hour Club and the Worthwhile Club. She is survived by her daughter LaVonne Wolters; grandchildren Lynn (Mary) Wolters, James Wolters, Lisa (David) Wolters, Valerie (Jace) Nelson, Bruce (Tina) Radel; great-grandchildren Shayne Wolters, Abilyn (George) Gerdes, Kelsey Wolters, Hannah Wolters, Janeen Wolters, Aaron (Amber) Wolters, Natasha Nelson, Baylee Nelson, Brady Radel, Elizabeth Radel, William Radel, Megan Radel, Brooke Radel, Erica Radel; great-great grandchildren, Isaiah Nelson, Carter Miller, Alexis Jo Wolters; brother, Elmore Sorenson and daughter in-law Marie Radel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Alvin Radel and Albert Borwege; son, Darrel Radel; grandson, Curt Radel and son in-law, LeRoy Wolters Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John''s Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior with the Reverend Dave Klawiter officiating.
