Ruth Reese, 88, of Owatonna, died Friday, August 12, 2016, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was born September 10, 1927, in Steele County the daughter of Paul and Nettie Belle (Ayers) Gasner. She was united in marriage to Roland Reese on February 18, 1944 in Le Sueur River Church in New Richland. Ruth was employed at Owatonna Public Utilities as a cashier. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Being widowed for 38 years, Ruth found her joy in giving back to people. She served dinner at her home every Sunday for over 40 years for all the family. She was truly the glue that kept the family together. She always had an open door for family and friends. Ruth also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and scratch off tickets. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Judy (Elde) Kretlow of Owatonna and Bonnie (Bill) Fuller of Thornton, Colorado; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Nettie Belle; husband, Roland; three sisters and six brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Reverend Amanda Weinkauf officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna and at the church one hour prior to the service.
