Ruth Marjorie Wendlandt, 91, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Clare Bridge of Owatonna. Ruth was born January 5, 1923 in Aurora Township, Steele County, Minnesota the daughter of Marcus and Beatrice (Moe) Anderson. She attended high school in Owatonna graduating in 1940. Ruth was united in marriage to Clinton Wendlandt on June 17, 1945 at Aurora Lutheran Church. The couple farmed East of Owatonna for many years. Clinton died February 12, 1967. Ruth worked for Great Plains Gas for 10 years. She also worked for Photo News in Owatonna and was a nurse''s assistant for Steele County Public Health. She was a member at Aurora Lutheran Church and was active in the church choir, ladies aid, being a Sunday school teacher and at the Aurora Diner during the Steel County Free Fair. Ruth was involved with Tops, the Golden Tones and also the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed crocheting, making lefsa and other Norwegian foods. She is survived by a son, Sterling (and Marilyn) Wendlandt of Owatonna; a daughter, Dee Ann (and Steven) Frodl of Owatonna; three grandchildren, Guy Frodl; Brett (and Kimberly) Frodl, Sarah (and John) Crosbie; two great grandchildren, Alexander and Elijah; a brother, Paul Anderson of Mapleton; and a sister, Annie Erdman of Owatonna. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Wendlandt (1967); her parents; a daughter at infancy; and three brothers, Harold, Thomas and Lyle. Visitation will be at Aurora Lutheran Church, Monday, March 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Aurora Lutheran Church with The Reverend Jonathan Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in Havana Township. Memorials are preferred to donor''s choice. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home.
