Ruth N. Winters , 98, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Infinia at Faribault. She was born May 6, 1909 in Ellsworth, Iowa the daughter of John and Margaret (Sexy) Thompson. Ruth graduated from the Ellsworth High School in 1928. After High School she attended St. Olaf College and later graduated from Miss Woods in 1932. Ruth taught country school for 5 years in Iowa. She married Harry Winters in 1937 in Ellsworth, Iowa. The couple moved to Owatonna in 1942 from Osage, Iowa. She worked diligently beside her husband at Harry Winters and Company (an Accounting Firm) for many years. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and baking. Ruth is survived by, two daughters; Carolyn Olcott of Owatonna, Harriet (Merlyn) Plotz of North Mankato, MN. Four grandchildren; Amy (Mike) Sarabalas of Farmington, MN., Mark Plotz of Washington, DC, Alison Olcott of Chicago and David Olcott of New York City, NY. Two great grandchildren Evan and Stacey Sarabalas of Farmington. Also by one sister Margaret Tracey of Denison, Iowa. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Harry, five brothers and four sisters. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. The Reverend Dean Smith will officiate. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Donor''s Choice.
