Sanford Jerome Wallager, 89, of West Concord, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center. He was born January 10, 1921 in Cherry Grove Twsp, Minnesota the son of Louis and Bertha (Peterson) Wallager. Sanford married Myra Voxland August 4, 1945 at Holden Lutheran Church. The couple farmed together outside of West Concord, until retiring and selling the farm in 1995. Both kept Sanford and Myra''s corn and bean fields to high standards, free of weeds and rocks. Sanford enjoyed his flower gardens, woodworking, games, and spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. Myra died on January 26, 2007. He is survived by daughter, Sharon (and Ken) Bachman of Owatonna, grandson Jeff (Susan) Wallager, granddaughter, Jenny Wallager, and great grandchildren Emma, Jadyn, Carl, and Soren. His wife Myra and son Larry, sister Oreen Auseth, and infant twin sisters preceded Sanford in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Thursday March 4, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Dale Lutheran Church, Kenyon on Friday March 5, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will be held Friday March 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Dale Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Rell Spickerman officiating. Interment will be in the Dale Lutheran Cemetery in Kenyon. Memorials are preferred to Dale Lutheran Church or the West Concord Fire and Rescue Department.
