Scott Dean Swenhaugen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, died unexpectedly on Aug. 16, 2015 at the age of 62. Born in Westbrook, MN on March 4th, 1953 he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherry; son Josh Swenhaugen(wife Miranda) of Shakopee, MN, daughter Brandi Kyllo (husband Doug) of Wanamingo, MN, son Drew Swenhaugen of Portland, OR and seven grandchildren; Sophia, Seth, Soren, and Stellen Kyllo and Sydney, Abigail, and Peter Swenhaugen. He is also survived by his sister Jane (Bob) Skaalerud of Willmar, two brothers Chuck (LeAnna) Swenhaugen of Booker, TX, and Paul Swenhaugen of Shoreview, stepfather Gene Fenstra of Willmar and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father Otis Swenhaugen and mother Elizabeth (Gene) Fenstra. Scott was united in marriage to Sherry Uhlenhopp May 18, 1974 Dovray, MN. Scott and his family lived in Westbrook, MN until 1993 when they moved to Kenyon, MN. Scott was co-owner of Kenyon Ag Service. He was an avid hunter, making many trips to hunt elk, deer and pheasant. Scott was known for his work ethic, generosity and willingness to help others. He was very active in the lives of his children and later, his grandchildren. He will be missed most of all by the love of his life, his wife Sherry.
Funeral service will be held Friday August 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at New Life Church in Wanamingo with Pastor Pat McBride officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 20, 2015 from 4-8 PM at New Life Church and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Kenyon cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home of Kenyon is handling arrangements
