Sharon Ann Knights, 77, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Clare Bridge Cottage. Sharon was born September 26, 1934 in Manson, Iowa the daughter of Ben and Mae (Calmer) Erie. There she was raised and attended school later graduating from Manson High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Neal Knights on May 19, 1955 at United Methodist Church, Manson, Iowa. They were blessed with four children. They lived throughout Iowa where she worked for a telephone company in Grinnell, Iowa for 10 years. They moved to Brookings, South Dakota in 1959 and then to Chamberlain, South Dakota. The couple then moved to Owatonna. Sharon was a caring, thoughtful person who loved quilting, rug hooking, visiting family and friends and giving tours at the Village of Yesteryear. She is survived by her husband Neal Knights of Owatonna; two daughters, Diane Knights of Burnsville; Lisa Knights of Bemidji; two sons, Chris (and Sarah Johnson) Knights of Winona; Ted (and Jen) Knights of Iowa City; three sisters, and two grandchildren, Arlo and Mae Knights of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Neal and Sharon''s home.
