Sharon "Shari" Buchta, 82, of Dennison, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 6, 1943, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Robert and Ethelwyn (Hussey) Kline. She was raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, quickly finding her love of the outdoors – spending countless hours swimming and fishing with her siblings, Charlie and Holly.
Shari was introduced to the love of her life, Larry Buchta, by her cousin. They were united in marriage on June 23, 1962, and together, were blessed with three daughters.
Shari moved to the farm shortly after marrying Larry and jumped right into the role of being a "farm partner". Her days were filled with the usual household chores and caring for her girls. As well as, picking rock, driving tractors, running coffee, lunch, and parts to Larry, and feeding the calves. She was happy to do any farming duties as long as she could be outdoors and in the sunshine. Many of her summers were spent working at Lorence's Berry Farm in Northfield with her family.
Known to many as a motherly figure and to others as a dear friend, Shari had a remarkable way of making people feel welcomed and cared for, treating everyone as one of her own. She left lasting impressions wherever she went. In Shari's free time, she loved to play games such as Farkle, Yahtzee, Scrabble and many others. She also loved to listen to music, specifically, Elvis Presley. One of the biggest joys of her life was spending time with family, whether that was hosting holidays at the farm or enjoying time at Birch Lakes Resort in Wisconsin where they would have family trips for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of Dennison, MN; daughters, Lisa (Todd) Bestul of Northfield, MN, Carrie (Rick) Pederson of Bloomington, and Brenda "Budda" Rose-Buchta of Faribault, MN; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shari was reunited with her family and friends who have passed before her.
"God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come With Me". With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, you're now at peaceful rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best."
A celebration of Shari's life will take place at a later date in the spring/summer.
