Sheila Rae Gentry, 53, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born October 23, 1955 in Minnesota the daughter of Ervin and Dawn (Hamann) Weiland. Sheila grew up in California and graduated from high school in Kings Beach Lake Tahoe, CA. Sheila returned to Minnesota where she worked for Hydro-ax, OMC, Gopher Sport and recently at Pineapple Appeal. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and cooking. Sheila was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her special friend, John Prestegard of Owatonna; children, Katherine 'Katy' (and special friend Doug Kos) Nelson of Owatonna, Christopher Gentry of Owatonna; grandchildren, Jace Buecksler, Shyler Nelson, Drayten 'Bubba' Randall; sister, Tamara (and Sam) Dirdak of Exeter, CA; brother, Jeffrey Weiland of Reedland, CA; father, Ervin Weiland of Exeter, CA; nephews, Zachariah Dirdak, Nathan Dirdak; niece, Abigayle Dirdak Sheila was preceded in death by her mother, Dawn; grandmother, June Hamann; grandfather, Buck Hamann. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday from 2pm to 3pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 3:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
