Shirlee J. Kos, 75, of Claremont, died Saturday evening, December 18, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 27, 1935 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Alyce (Wellhausen) Borwege. Shirlee graduated from OHS in 1953 and started working at Federated Insurance. She married Gale Kos September 24, 1955 at Associated Church in Owatonna, the couple then started farming in 1958. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Havana Township, and she was also a member of the Sunshine Club. Shirlee and Gale have enjoyed spending the past ten winters together in South Padre. Shirlee enjoyed traveling, shopping, and reading. She is survived by her husband Gale, children Karla (and Lenny) Schmoll of West Concord, Bambi (and Phil) Schweppe of Rapid City, SD, Joe (and Lori) Kos of Claremont, eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (and LaDonna) Borwege of Owatonna, sister, Joan Grunklee of Owatonna, sister, Betty (and Lowell) Schultz of Owatonna, and sister, Renota Srp of Mankato. She was preceded in death by her Parents, brother Brian, and son in law Jack J. Schweppe. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday December 21, 2010 from 5-8 PM and at St. John's Lutheran Church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church with The Reverend Keith Meyer officiating.
