Shirley Ann Deming, 83, of Owatonna, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. She was born January 11, 1935 in Owatonna the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Schley) Krause. She attended country school and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1952. On May 21, 1954 Shirley married Sterling Deming in Hertford, NC. Upon completion of his military service, the couple moved back to Steele County where they farmed together until 1985 when they moved to town. Shirley worked in various flower shops and enjoyed 24 years working at Taco John's where she developed many relationships. Shirley enjoyed gardening, freezing and canning food, and traveling. Shirley visited all 50 states, Norway, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. She loved spending time and visiting with her friends, family grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Michael (and Judy) Deming of Plant City, FL, Steven (and Sara) Deming of Owatonna, Todd Deming of Owatonna; daughter, Melissa (and Mark) Lopau of Dover; many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; special friend, Robert Spatenka of Owatonna; brothers, Orlo (and Karen) Krause of Dalhart, TX, Loren (and Bev) Krause of Owatonna; Deloris (and Paul) Kubicek of Owatonna, Marie Radel of Outing, Ione (and Dale) Sette of Owatonna, Loreene (and Greg) Caswell of Owatonna and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, granddaughter, granddaughter-in-law and many other loved ones. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm and one hour prior to the service at he church on Monday. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Stephanie Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
