Stanley Dean Jannings, 83, of Owatonna, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born November 23, 1927 in Lee County, Iowa the son of Chauncey and Ann (Stevenson) Jannings. Stanley was raised in southeastern Iowa where he attended school. He served in the US Army for 2 1/2 years. On January 28, 1950 he married Pauline Benjamin in Fairfield, IA. The couple lived in Iowa until moving to Owatonna in 1961. Stanley owned and operated a pipeline construction firm for 40 plus years. He also worked as a broker in real estate. He was a private pilot for many years. In addition to flying he also enjoyed golfing. Stanley is survived by sons, Steven ( Dianne) Jannings of Owatonna, Tom ( Virginia) Jannings of Post Falls, ID, Jeffery ( Jackie) Jannings of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Michael ( Christine) Jannings of Blooming Prairie; daughter, Sherrill Jannings of Bloomington; grandchildren, Anne ( Ben) Larson, Christopher, Kyle, Emily, Megan, Melissa and Joshua Jannings; step-grandchildren, Candace, Patrick and Jacob Zak; great grandson, Adam Larson; brother, Harold ( Frances) Jannings; sisters, Dorothy ( Gary) Branch and Rayma ( Ron) Brown, and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; sister, Betty; brother-in-law, Herb; nephew, Rob. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm and on Friday from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Owatonna Area Hospice Patient Care Fund, Traditions of Owatonna-Alzheimer''s Fund or to the donor''s choice.
