Stanley Roy Miller, 78, of Owatonna, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House.
He was born March 31, 1939 in Owatonna the son of Selmer and Mabel (Dostal) Miller. Stan graduated from Owatonna High School in 1957. He married Lois Weckworth on March 11, 1961 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Richland. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Owatonna. Stan served in the US Army from 1962-1964.
Stan enjoyed fishing, hunting, birds, and the occasional trip to the casino. He also enjoyed traveling with Lois especially to the north shore. He worked for Jostens, King Company and Truth Hardware prior to his retirement. Stan appreciated his group of friends that frequently played cards and met for breakfast.
He is survived by his niece, Cindy (and Mark) Blanchette of Owatonna; great nieces, Holly (and Kevin) Glanville, Melanie (and Joe) Sunnarborg, Amy Blanchette; sisters-in-law, Tess Hanson, Leone Svelmoe; lifelong friend, Gaylord Moeckly and godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Miller and brother, Cecil Miller.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19 from 10am to 11am followed by a graveside service at Owatonna Memorial Gardens with Victor Jortack officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna with Military Honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or to the donor's choice.
