Steven Douglas Mundy, 72, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born October 22, 1950 in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Albert and Carol (Auman) Mundy, the fifth of nine children. He grew up in Hayfield, Minnesota where he graduated from high school.

Steven served in the United States Army in Vietnam from November 30, 1968 until his honorable discharge on August 30, 1971. He continued serving in the Army Reserves until November 29, 1974.

On July 29, 1978, he was united in marriage to Barbara Green. The couple made their home in WI, NE, NJ, CA and a final stop in Minnesota.

Steven spent most of his working career as a plumber. He also worked at McNelius in Dodge Center.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Barbara and hunting with his Vizlsa dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; brothers, Lee, Eldon, Larry, and Dennis; sisters, Deanna, Venita, and Brenda and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Mundy; brother, Bruce; nephew, Tyler and niece, Nicole.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the United Methodist Church in Owatonna with visitation one hour prior. The Reverend Lisa Vick will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.

Memorials are preferred to Wounded Warrior Project, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund or Owatonna United Methodist Church.
