Steven Paul Newhouse, 56, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born September 30, 1955 in Minneapolis, the son of Halvor and Ruth (Saterlie) Newhouse. Steven graduated from Cooper High School with the Class of 1974 and went on to attend North Hennepin Tech. He married Mary Dieter Sept. 26, 1981 in Anoka. The couple made their home in Anoka, and Steve worked for McLean in Champlin. In 2003, Steve went to work for Bayliner and moved his family to Pipestone where they lived until 2011. In 2011, he accepted a position with The Boeing Company and moved to Arlington, WA. After suffering a stroke Steve moved to Owatonna in 2012. Steve was always involved in his church and loved his Savior. He belonged to Nowthen Alliance Church while living in Anoka, Cornerstone Free Church in Pipestone, and Arlington Free Methodist Church in Arlington, WA. He was involved in Prison Ministry through Cornerstone Free Church and served on the board of both Cornerstone Free and Nowthen Alliance churches. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, family vacations and taking trips to their cabin on the north shore of Lake Superior. He is survived by his wife, Mary Newhouse of Owatonna; children, Samuel (and Monica) Newhouse of Owatonna, Micah (and Sarah) Newhouse of Owatonna, Anna Newhouse of Owatonna, Katherine Newhouse of Sioux Falls, SD, Mark Newhouse of Pipestone, Joshua Newhouse of Owatonna; brother, Robert (and Bethany) Newhouse of Stillwater. He was preceded in death by his son, Peder; brother, John.
