Sylvia Adelaide Klemmer, 98, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital. She was born April 10, 1911 in Summit Township, Minnesota the daughter of Oliver and Louise (Flesche) Ohnstad. Sylvia graduated from Ellendale High School. She moved to Owatonna and attended the Canfield School. Sylvia worked for First National bank in Owatonna and Mankato. She married William G. Klemmer Dec. 23, 1939 in Owatonna. Following their marriage she quit working at the bank to raise her children and helped with the bookkeeping for their business, Geo. A. Klemmer Son Co. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been active in circles. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Emanon. Sylvia enjoyed playing cards and loved music. Sylvia is survived by daughters, Mary (and Todd) Hale of Owatonna, Janet (and Gary) Hoberg of Owatonna, Julie (and David) Knapp of Faribault; nieces, Lorraine (and Duane) Yule of Owatonna, Janice (and David) Fitch of Cloquet who made their home with her family. Eleven grandchildren Steve (and Julie) Hale, Tim (and Noelle) Hale, Allison (and Steven) Butler, Heather (and Dustin) Hensley, Erick Hoberg, Kim Krannich, Kathy (and Troy) Neirby, Scott Knapp, Lisa (and Steve) Olsonoski, Christine (and Dan) O''Hotto, and Paul (and Shannon) Fitch. She is also survived by eighteen great- grandchildren Justin, Stephanie, Sean, Riley, and Casey Hale, Haley, Robin, Susanna, and Piper Butler, Trey, and Megan Krannich, Christopher Knapp, Emily, and Timothy Neirby, Jacob Olsonoski, and David, Alex, and Michael Fitch, and one sister, Harriet Carpenter of Interlachen, FL and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; 5 sisters Ella, Idella, Lillian, Bernice, and Margaret and 3 brothers Oliver, Henry, and Rueben. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday from 12pm to 1pm. Funeral services will be held Monday October 12, 2009 at 1:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Crane Creek Cemetery in Deerfield Township.
