Thelma M. Kaiser, 81, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born April 4, 1928 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Walter and Eva (Metoxen) Skenandore. Thelma graduated from East Green Bay high school and then attended St. Barnabus nursing school in New Jersey, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She married Harold A. Kaiser on October 18, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI. The couple moved to New Ulm, MN, in 1954 and Thelma worked at the Union Hospital there. She later started the student health services at Dr. Martin Luther College and Martin Luther Academy while in New Ulm. Thelma and Harold moved to Prairie du Chien, WI for sixteen years and worked with the faculty of Martin Luther Preparatory School. They later moved to Watertown, WI for six years and then retired to Owatonna in 2001. Thelma is survived by her children, David (and Sandy) Kaiser of Owatonna, Leanne (and Keith) Howard of Brooklyn Center, Dan (and Mona) Kaiser of Medford, Karen (and Ken) Kraemer of Eden Prairie, and Richard (and Ruth) Kaiser of Sachse, TX. Twelve beloved grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive Thelma. Her husband Harold preceded her in death in 2006. Visitation will be at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Owatonna, MN on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Thomas Smith officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Luther Preparatory School Scholarship Fund (Watertown, WI).
