Thelma Minges, 84, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. Thelma Dalland was born December 23, 1927 in Forest City, IA, the daughter of Ole and Louise (Bergman) Dalland. She was raised near Woden, IA and there attended country school. She moved to Britt, IA and waitressed at the Coffee Shop. Thelma was married to Harold Clements Sr. on May 15, 1949. They moved to Owatonna and later to Davenport where she worked for Howard Johnson Hotel. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1962. Harold died in 1966. In January 1967, Thelma and her family moved to Owatonna where she worked at Jerry''s Supper Club. She married Wayne Minges on June 1, 1974 and the couple made their home in Owatonna. They later moved south of Owatonna and later to their current home where they have lived for 21 years. Thelma enjoyed cooking, baking and canning. Her house was always busy. Having coffee on and snacks for visiting family and friends were always a priority. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Eagles Club, going to the casino, taking fishing trips with her family to Saskatchewan and Ontario. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she always looked out for her family. She is survived by her husband Wayne Minges of Owatonna; a daughter, Connie Olberding of Burnsville; two sons, Randy (and Deb) Clements of Owatonna; Tom (and Kathy) Clements of Owatonna; two sisters, Marge (and Carl) Drache of Owatonna; Ruth (and Gerald) Rysavy of Delhart, TX; a daughter-in-law, Mary Clements of Owatonna; seven grandchildren, Jason (and Milissia) Olberding, Jeff Olberding, Matt Clements, Tina Clements, Rhonda (and Kevin) Stoneking, Jennifer Clements and Brandi Clements. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by first husband, Harold Sr., a son, Harold Clements Jr., her parents, five brothers, one sister. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
