Theresa H. Chou, 80, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at her home. She was born July 31, 1931 in Nanking, China, the daughter of Cheng Huan and Ching Fan (Wu) Peng. Theresa was the back bone of the Chou family. She encouraged both her husband and son to strive for greatness. She pushed them hard to achieve their goals, both of whom attribute a great deal of support from Theresa as they pursued their doctorates. She sacrificed her career numerous times in support for the greater good of the family. She was a selfless woman whose number one focus was on others and others needs. She was soft spoken but seen as a leader and a caretaker by many. She is in many cases an inspiration and a motivator to her family and others. Theresa achieved her degree in Accounting from China's top school, National Taiwan University. She later came to the United States to achieve her MBA from Virginia Technical University. She is survived by her husband, Nelson Chou of Owatonna; son, Tony Chou of Owatonna; grandsons, Alex and Andrew Chou of Owatonna; brother, S.C. Peng of Taiwan; and sister-in-law, Shu Ming Peng of Germany. She was preceded in death by her father, Cheng Huan Peng; her mother, Ching Fan (Wu) Peng; and her brother, S.H. Peng. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM .
