Thomas A. Anderson, 88, of Owatonna, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital. Thomas was born March 16, 1921 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Marcus and Beatrice (Moe) Anderson. Thomas was raised and attended school in Owatonna. He then joined the Civilian Conservation Corp before entering the United States Navy. While serving during WWII, Thomas was stationed in Hawthorne, Nevada and Farragut, Idaho. After his honorable discharge he returned to Owatonna and was married to Maxine Grunwald. They later divorced. He worked for Hummel Brothers and Anderson Millworks in Owatonna and later for the Owatonna Hospital. He was a member of the Aurora Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking, cabinetry, remodeling and other carpentry jobs. He also enjoyed fishing and going to church suppers. He is survived by daughter, Joan (and Dennis) Ebertowski of Winona; a son, Mark (and Mary Lou) Anderson of Bloomington; two brothers, Paul Anderson of Mapleton; Lyle (and LaVone) Anderson of Owatonna; two sisters, Ruth Wendlandt of Owatonna and Anna Erdman of Owatonna. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jill (and Steve) Johnson of Winona; Karin (and John) Morris of St. Louis Park; Adam (and Marnie) Anderson of Bloomington; Nicole Anderson of New York; four great grandchildren, Collin and Joshua Anderson and Benjamin and Amelia Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM . Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in Havana Township.
