Tom Malloy, 61, of Minneapolis (formerly of Kenyon), died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Hennepin County Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a bicycle accident. He was born August 22, 1950 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of Donald and Elizabeth (Covert) Malloy. The eldest of four children, he grew up on the Malloy Family farm in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County. He attended and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1968. He then attended Mankato State College. Tom worked as an electrician in Kenyon and Minneapolis. He also became a licensed real estate agent in Minneapolis. He was a member of Kehilat Sar Shalom Synagogue of Saint Paul, MN. He is survived by his sister, Linda (and Emory) Buller of Saint James; two brothers, James (and Donna) Malloy of Kenyon, and Daniel Malloy of Red Wing; two nieces, Becky (and Jeff) Buller-Haley of Manchester, TN, and Deanna (and Steve) Gage of Rochester; two nephews, Justin Malloy of New York City, NY, and Michael Buller of Minneapolis; aunts and uncle, Donna and Don Johnson of Kasson, Rita Covert of Faribault, and Esther Dwyer of Faribault; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at First Evangelical Lutheran Church on November 25, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held November 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township. Memorials may be given to donor's choice in memory of Tom. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
