Tim Kraay passed away on September 21, 2019, in Loveland CO, due to complications from a duodenal ulcer, he was 64.
Timothy Peter Kraay was born on September 2, 1955, in Hollandale, to Jochem Cornelius "J.C." and Doris (Larson) Kraay. Tim's family move to Owatonna in 1960, where his father and uncles started the Kraay Bros. Farm. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1973. Tim worked in the family business at Tonna Heating and Cooling where he learned the HVAC and sheet metal trade. In 1986, he moved to Colorado, eventually becoming a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker, working on large commercial construction projects.
Tim was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Fort Collins and Loveland, CO.
Tim had many interests, including music, cooking, hunting, fishing and tending to his rose bushes. Tim enjoyed working with copper and built restaurant hoods, awnings and fountains. Tim was well known for his big laugh and his family was always foremost in his heart and mind.
Tim is survived by his brother, David (Leigh Ann) Kraay of Owatonna; sister, Debra (Kevin) Grose of Owatonna; nieces and nephews; significant other, Cleona Kading of Loveland, CO.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents J.C. and Doris Kraay and siblings, Michael, Ronald, Barbara and Joan Kraay; and a great-nephew.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held from 1-4 pm on Oct. 19, 2019, at the Izaak Walton Building, 1546 SW 58th St in Owatonna.
