Todd Caryl Owen, 41, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born December 8, 1971 in Blue Earth the son of Ronald and Char (Dahms) Owen. Todd graduated from Waseca High School in 1990 and attended Mankato State University. He married Renee Hopkins of Little Rock, AR October 10, 1998 in Winnebago and the couple lived in Owatonna. He and his wife operated Midwest Building Contractors and Images Salon until 2006. Todd then worked for Charter and Noble RV prior to becoming a coach with Beachbody in August of 2009. As a result of his fitness coaching, he founded the Owatonna Fit Club. Todd loved movies, pizza and family night. Along with this he enjoyed playing a variety of card and board games. He was an accomplished pool player. His pool team won the state championship in 2012. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, biking and being outdoors and in the water. Todd was a serve team member of New Life Community in Owatonna. He loved to sing while he was working and with his kids. Todd''s kids were the main focus in his life. His love for his children was as big as the smile on his face. He is survived by his wife, Renee Owen of Owatonna; children Alysha and Andrew of Owatonna; mother, Char (and Bruce) Bartels of Ridgecrest, CA; brothers, Tim Owen of Denver, CO, Matt Enger of Ridgecrest, CA; maternal grandparents, Elmer Ramona Dahms of Winnebago; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alton Lois Hopkins of Grubbs, AR; 2 nieces; 2 nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Owen; uncle, Denny Owen; paternal grandparents, Caryl and Deloris Owen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm. A celebration of Todd''s life will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Stauffer officiating. Join the family by wearing your bright colors or workout apparel to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Owatonna Fit Club, in an effort to promote Todd''s dream of free fit clubs for everyone.
