Tommy "Tom" Benson Towle, 72, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born October 29, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Carl and Elsie (Appleton) Towle. Tom graduated from Zearing High School in Zearing, Iowa. He served in the US Air Force from 1965-1969. He married Darlene Snell April 7, 1971 in Brainerd. She preceded him in death in 2006. Tom worked for Wal-Mart managing several different stores for over 15 years. The various transfers with Wal-Mart eventually brought him to Minnesota. He then worked for OTC for several years retiring just after it became Bosch. Tom married Vicki Fitterer on December 22, 2007 in Owatonna. Tom was a member of Owatonna Coin Club, Owatonna Church of Christ and a former member of Kiwanis. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends and loved watching NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Towle of Owatonna; daughter, Brandie (and Lloyd) Kuefner of Waseca; son, Scott (and Amy) Towle of Owatonna; step-son, Shane Lebahn of Owatonna; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene, one brother and two sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 5pm to 8pm. A private family memorial service will be held which will include interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
