Tony Sides, 43, of Owatonna, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Methodist Hospital after a year long battle with cancer. Tony was born February 18, 1966 in Colorado City, Texas. At the age of four, Tony moved with his family to Port St John, Florida where he grew up and attended school. Tony met Annissa Babcock in Florida December 2002. Tony worked all his life as an Iron Worker and was employed as a supervisor with Brevard Constructors before moving to Minnesota in April of 2004. They moved to Owatonna where Annissa was originally from. They made their home here and were united in marriage on January 16, 2009. Tony was employed for Met-Con in Faribault as an Iron Worker and Crane Operator. Tony was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed playing flag football, bowling, darts, Texas Holdem, softball, horseshoes, ping pong, hunting, NASCAR and playing pool. Tony had a great love for his wife, children, family and friends. Tony was a man of many strengths who had a kind and gentle heart. Those who were fortunate enough to get past Tony''s tough exterior knew they had a friend for life and someone they could always count on. He is survived by his wife Annissa; a son, Anthony; three daughters; Sydney and Ella of Owatonna; and Shelby of Mims, Florida; two brothers, Scott (wife Samantha) Cunningham of Dunn, Texas; Bill (wife Becky) Sides of Titusville, Florida; sister, Tammy (husband Brett) Cordell of Melbourne, Florida; two nephews, TJ Jennings of Nashville, TN and Josh Jennings (Air Force) of Wichita Falls, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Renee Babcock of Owatonna; brother-in-laws; Adam Babcock of Owatonna, James Babcock of Mankato, and many other family and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his brother Toby Sides and good friend Scott Loken. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend John Linde officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
