Verna Leelyn Henke, age 96, of Owatonna, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Brooks on St. Paul Assisted Living in Owatonna. Verna Leelyn Henke was born October 30, 1918 in Medford Township, Minnesota the daughter of Harlan and Maude (Reinhard) Webster. She attended school in Medford. On December 10, 1934 she married Lloyd Henke. Verna worked for Hy-Line Hatchery, Montgomery Ward, Owatonna Manufacturing and she helped her husband Lloyd on the family farm. Verna enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, watching sports and wildlife. Above all else she loved to spend time with her family and friends and always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas with cards and gifts. Verna is survived by her, son Lloyd (Helen) Henke, of Baxter, MN, son Mervle (Marilyn) Henke, of Owatonna, MN, son Allen (Barbara) Henke, of Walker, MN, daughter Marlene Shari Heitke, of Paynesville, MN, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Henke and her brothers Darrell and Duane Webster. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Associated Church in Owatonna. The Reverend Jim Oberg will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
