Verna E. Jacobson, 94, of Owatonna, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born September 15, 1916 in Lemond Township, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Olson) Jacobson. Verna grew up in Lemond Township, and attended school in Steele County. She was baptized and confirmed at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. She moved to Minneapolis in 1945 and worked as a ward secretary for Abbott Hospital for thirty one years retiring in 1981. Verna enjoyed piano, reading, painting pictures, traveling the United States and London. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two brothers, Gerald (Marie) Jacobson, Howard Jacobson, and sister in law Helen Jacobson all of Owatonna. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Emmett and Clair Jacobson. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church with Reverend Josh Erhler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
